Ashley stairs at the walls of the Great Hall waiting for something interesting to happen, she had finished her Potions and Astronomy homework a week before it was due, she sighed and rested her head apon her arms. She was a Ravenclaw third year, a beater on the Quidditch team and one of the Weasley twins friends. She liked mischeif almost as much a they did. It was Harry Potter's first year and she was waiting for a first glimps of this famous boy.

Annalise stared at her close friend Ashley, wondering what they could do once she FINALLY finished her homework. She got good grades, but unlike Ashley-she constantly waited until the last possible moment. She justified herself by claiming it was the only way she got her work done; she worked well under pressure.
She started writing faster, the guilt from keeping Ashley behind with her was her only motivation.

"Hey Anna..." Ashley said quietly raising her head up to look up at the enchanted ceiling. "Did you read the newspaper lately?" she asked berfore looking down. "I heard that Potter boy is gonna be here this year."

Anna looked up from her work, grateful for anything to distract her from Potions homework. While Annalise always had a book in hand, she rarely read the newspaper. "Really ..." she murmured to Ashley. "No, I havent read the paper .. guess I should start. With Potter coming ... you can bet that will cause quite a stir ..."

"Of course it will. He's the boy that lived. He's savior for all the wizarding world... except them..." she said pointing to the Slytherin table.

Anna turned where Ashley was pointing and a look of disgust crossed her face. "Yeah. I have no idea why they're even welcome in this school ... Dumbledore is a saint for putting up with them."

Yeah I know... But still... I have to put up with most of them... they are my family ya know...." she sighed Her parents were cousins of the Malfoy's, the Black's and luckily to distant to be family, the Weasley's.The family tree intermingled with every branch and she sighed. "I hate all of them except my third cousin Sirius. He was cool." she smiled.

Anna shivered, glad her family had nothing to do with any of the Slytherins. "What ever happened to Sirius?" Anna asked Ashley, hoping the answer wasn't something that would bring up too many bad memories.

"Well... let's just say the Minister didn't have a fair trial..." she said quietly. I wrote to him and told him in my first year that I got into Ravenclaw and he was very proud of me for it. He said I didn't degrate myself like my sister." she said doodleing on her new peice of parchment with her quill.

Anna wasnt sure what to say after a bold statement like this. She stared at Ashley for a few minutes longer, and then decided she wasnt going to puch the conversation further. She went back to work on her Charms homework

Ash looked over at the Gryffindor table and smiled as Oliver Wood waved and then gave a thumbs up obviously refering to the Beater practice yesterday. "So... Need help?"

even though anna was doing her homework .. she still noticed ashley and Olver. She ignored the homework help suggestion and whispered, "is soemthing going on with you and oliver? that smile of his seemed pretty big when he looked over here ...."

Anna laughed along with Ashley. How could she have even thought that Ahley wouldn't have told her if something was going on with her and oliver? Speaking of crushes ... Annalise thought about her crush .. someone by the name of Cedric. Just thinking about him made her blush, and she hoped Ashley hadn't noticed the color rising in her cheeks.

Ashley was looking down at her paper. "Your thinking about him again." she said still shading in the little characters on her paper that started to move.
